Transportation Commission Will Vote Today on Road Money

By AP/KWMU

Jefferson City – Missouri's transportation commission will vote today on a new way to split state road money between rural and urban Missouri.

Currently half of all state road money goes to St. Louis and Kansas City, the other half goes to the rest of the state. Rural areas want more money; St. Louis leaders say metro roads help the entire state's economy.

One lawmaker says whatever the changes, he'll push colleagues to make them temporary, to allow for future changes.
