Tuesday Night's Plane Crash NOT Terrorism

By Matt Sepic, KWMU

St. Louis, MO – Officials say there is nothing suspicious about Tuesday night's plane crash in the Mississippi river.

FBI Special Agent Tom Bush says the accident was in no way related to terrorism, and the two-man crew was carrying a load of seat cushions.

Bush says the pilot ran out of fuel before he could land at Lambert Airport, and deliberately brought the plane down in the water.

"The citizens of St. Louis could even be grateful for the actions he took to avoid populated areas and land that plane in the river," Bush said.

The pilots, 34-year-old Saleem Iqbal and 44-year-old Mohammed Saleh, are being treated at an area hospital.

As of Wednesday afternoon NTSB investigators were pulling the plane from the water.
