St. Louis, MO – St. Louis police took two teenagers into custody Wednesday evening after they had escaped hours earlier from the city's medium security jail.

A police spokeswoman said the two were discovered in a vacant house in the 5900 block of Wabada.

One of the teens had been awaiting trial on murder charges.

Police say Eric Glenn Gray and Kurt Michael Wallace escaped from the jail known as the City Workhouse sometime between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Gray was arrested in June 2009 and is awaiting trial on murder charges. Wallace was arrested in October 2008 for first-degree assault and is also awaiting trial.

Both teens are 17 and were certified to stand trial as adults.
