St. Louis, MO – The two candidates for U.S. Senate in Missouri this year have repeatedly vied for the rural farm vote. Wednesday's salvo from Democrat Claire McCaskill included an endorsement from country star Willie Nelson.
Nelson was in St. Louis for a concert at UMB Bank Pavilion but took time before the show for politicking. McCaskill, is running for U.S. Senate this year against Republican incumbent Jim Talent.
Nelson says McCaskill would fight to protect family farms against corporate agriculture.
Talent, though, notes he's been endorsed by the Missouri Farm Bureau and various other state agricultural associations, while McCaskill touts her support from the National Farmers Union.
