Wrongful death suit filed by sister of woman killed by Metro bus
The Post-Dispatch describes the details of the lawsuit:
The suit, filed today in St. Louis Circuit Court by Deborah Smith, alleges that the unnamed driver falied to keep a careful lookout, didn't properly use mirrors, knew or should have known that Rosalind Smith was there, and failed to warn her not to stand or walk in front of the bus.
Metro said that it does not comment on pending lawsuits.
The driver of the bus, an unnamed 62-year-old, was terminated following the fatal accident, per Metro policy, but has the right to appeal. He had been with the company since 1988, with only one minor crash with a car in 2007, the paper reports.
