Lewis and Clark, about 20 miles southwest of St. Joseph, has reopened for day use only. Missouri State Parks Superintendent Bill Bryan says the campground is still closed.
Big Lake, Mo., where recovery efforts for the body of Missouri State Police trooper Fred Guthrie Jr. are taking place. Guthrie was helping with flood duties in Holt County on Monday when he apparently was swept away by the flood waters.
Searchers located the body of Fred Guthrie's patrol dog Reed on Tuesday afternoon near Mo. Highway 118 in Holt County, about 100 yards from the location where Trooper Guthrie's truck and boat were found on Monday. The search for the trooper's body continues.
