The internet pervades almost every aspect of modern life and religion is no exception. From Facebook and Twitter, to live streaming services and online donations, churches across the country are redefining what it means to worship.

St. Louis Public Radio’s Joseph Leahy takes a look at how some local congregations are embracing the net to expand their missions online.

Past meets present in hidden world under St. Louis streets

When a 20-inch steam pipe buried 15 feet under the streets of St. Louis burst two weeks ago, most people focused on the potential health hazards in what was blown skyward.

But the blast got St. Louis Public Radio’s Rachel Lippmann thinking - what’s under the streets that we don’t know about until it’s revealed?

A St. Louisan shares his Holocaust experience

Our own Julie Bierach shares this first-person account from Mendel Rosenberg of his experiences during the Holocaust. Rosenberg, along with three other concentration camp survivors, will share their testimonials at the St. Louis Yom HaShoah Commemoration this Sunday at Congregation Temple Israel at 4 p.m. Yom HaShoah is also known as Holocaust Remembrance Day, and is recognized around the world.

My name is Mendel Rosenberg. I’m a Holocaust survivor and I live here in St. Louis.

I lived in Lithuania, part of the three Baltic States before the war. When Hitler came to power it didn’t take long to occupy Lithuania and immediately they started after the Jews.
