Anheuser-Busch Contributes Drinking Water To Hurricane Recovery

Anheuser-Busch is in the process of packaging over one million cans of drinking water for victims of Hurricane Sandy that hit the northeast early this week.

The St. Louis-based company has the ability to easily convert one or more of its beer-production lines to produce drinking water, which is something it has done in the wake of natural disasters since the late 1980s.

St. Louis Region Sends Help To Sandy-Swept East Coast

Updated 3:18 p.m. Oct. 31:

The Red Cross of the Greater St. Louis Region says it has increased its support staff headed to help with disaster assistance.

They say they have now brought their number of regional volunteers to 26 and response vehicles to five.

Updated at 4:50 p.m. to include the deployment of Missouri Task Force One's Red team to provide disaster assistance.

Ameren Workers To Help With Hurricane Sandy Recovery

National Weather Service forecasters predict Hurricane Sandy will make landfall early next week.

Updated at 7:50 am Sunday with information about Red Cross volunteers.

Ameren says it is sending more than 100 employees Saturday to New England to help with any problems caused by Hurricane Sandy.

Sandy is expected to be a monstrous storm that poses a serious threat for the entire Eastern Seaboard. Forecasters say Sandy is a massive cyclone, with hurricane-force winds recorded as far as 100 miles away from the eye of the storm.
