Jeffrey Hudson, a St. Louis firefighter, died at Fire Station #36 today, according to a fire department spokesman.

A St. Louis firefighter died while on duty today at a fire station on S. Kingshighway.

St. Louis Fire Department spokesman Captain Dan Sutter says Jeffrey Hudson appeared to have passed away in his sleep.

Hudson went out on a call early this morning than returned to Fire Station #36.

Sutter says he was found in his bunk later in the morning.

The department says Hudson’s death likely will be considered in the line of duty.
