Judge refuses request to delay Coleman trial

In an update to a story we told you about earlier today, a judge has refused the request of Christopher Coleman's defense to delay Coleman's trial.

Coleman, accused of strangling his wife and their two sons in 2009, is scheduled to go to trial next month.

Quinn signs Ill. income tax increase into law

In an expected move after yesterday's press conference on the subject, Ill. Gov. Pat Quinn has signed legislation into law that temporarily increases the Illinois income tax rate by two-thirds.

Quinn said yesterday that the legislation is meant to help close a $15 billion budget deficit that threatens to cripple state government.
