Mo. Pearl Harbor vet recalls Dec. 7, 1941 attack

Bill McAnany, 90, of Jefferson City is a U.S. Navy veteran who survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor 70 years ago.  At the time, he was a medical corpsman stationed aboard the hospital ship USS Solace.  St. Louis Public Radio’s Marshall Griffin sat down with McAnany this week, and talked to him about what he went through on December 7, 1941.

Pearl Harbor survivor awarded eight medals in St. Louis

A 30-year veteran of the United States Postal Service received recognition today for his veteran status of another kind.

91-year-old John T. Moton, Jr. was awarded eight different medals for his service in the United States Navy, KMOV reports.

Congressman Lacy Clay presented the medals in his office this morning and included the following:
