Choreographer and former New York City principal dancer Christopher d’Amboise is the mastermind behind the Beatles-themed piece entitled “Bedtime Stories,” which also features fun sleep-themed costumes.

“The Nutcracker” has become a holiday tradition, and is performed by countless ballet companies around the world.

“‘Nutracker,’ for ballet companies, is kind of our Super Bowl,” said Saint Louis Ballet dancer Stephen Lawrence, who plays the Cavalier in the company’s production of “The Nutcracker.”

This article first appeared in the St. Louis Beacon: Christopher d'Amboise has been to St. Louis a few times now to collaborate with the St. Louis Ballet, each time working with the dancers here on pieces he's already composed.

"In the process of that, I got to really know the dancers," he says, learning how quirky and interesting each one was.
