A group of St. Louis doctors is working to make sure transgender kids get the medical care they need.

When the Washington University and St. Louis Children’s Hospital Transgender Center of Excellence opens today, it will be the first of its kind in a 250-mile radius. The clinic aims to provide transgender children with comprehensive health care including pediatric medicine, endocrinology, and mental health counseling.

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is working to help kids avoid being a repeat victim of violence.

Margie Batek, the supervisor of social work at the hospital, developed the program in 2014. She will publicly present three' years worth of data for the first time Tuesday.

A third person faces charges for allegedly kidnapping a 5-year-old boy from the St. Louis hospital where he is on a heart transplant list.

A 5-year-old Kansas City boy taken yesterday from St. Louis Children's Hospital has been located near Chicago.

Illinois state troopers located Porter Stone, his father Jeffrey Stone, and his paternal grandmother Rhonda Marie Matthews in Alsip, Ill. Both adults are in custody on felony charges of kidnapping, interfering with custody, and endangering the welfare of a child.

St. Louis Children's Hospital has been named to U.S. News & World Report's Honor Roll.

For the ninth year in a row, St. Louis Children's Hospital, affiliated with Washington University in St. Louis, has been name to U.S. News & World Report's list of America's Best Children's Hospitals.

This year they also made the Honor Roll, a distinction given to hospitals making high marks in at least four specialty categories.

St. Louis area medical professionals are throwing their support behind a bill making its way through the Missouri legislature. The bill would help protect high school athletes from concussions.

Among other measures, the High School Sports Brain Injury Prevention Act would require student athletes to be cleared by a doctor before returning to play or practice.
