The Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation is putting on its fifth St. Louis Teen Talent Competition on Friday, April 24 at the Fox Theatre.

Of the 39 acts that competed in the semi-final round, 12 will compete in the finals on the Fox Theatre stage for more than $30,000 in scholarships, prizes and awards.

One of those competing is Janna Linae Schmid, a senior at Eukeka High School. Schmid is a singer and dancer and will perform “I Can’t Do It Alone,” from the musical, “Chicago.”

For the fourth time in as many years, the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation is putting on the St. Louis Teen Talent Competition. From an initial audition pool of more than 100 teens from the metro area, twelve finalists have been selected to perform at the Fox Theatre Friday, April 4.

The finalists will be competing for college scholarships and the opportunity to make appearances, but in reality they have already won said writer, director and choreographer Tony Parise, who is directing the performance.

On Friday, April 12th, a dozen acts in the St. Louis Teen Talent Competition will square off in the finals, competing for college scholarships, prizes and public appearance opportunities.

The Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation holds the event to “foster the emerging talent in the St. Louis performing arts community…and to present an adjudicated competition showcasing the splendidly talented teens of the St. Louis Metropolitan area.”
