Eight downtown ramps to close this weekend

Some downtown St. Louis interstate exit and entrance ramps will be closed this weekend because of Fair St. Louis.

Interstate 170 to close next weekend at Delmar

The Delmar bridge as it appeared to MoDOT inspectors on April 25, 2011. The bridge has been demolished, and construction of a new one will close all lanes of Interstate 170 at Delmar July 8-11.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes of Interstate 170 at Delmar next Friday, July 8, to set girders and install portions of the driving surface for the new bridge.

Lane closures will start around 7 p.m. on July 8, and all lanes will be open again by the morning rush hour on Monday, July 11.

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn signed two traffic safety measures Monday. Quinn said in a press release that the new laws are “common sense measures that will help all motorists in Illinois arrive at their destinations safely.”

Judge throws out St. Louis' red light camera law

I-170 to close May 20-23 for bridge removal

The Delmar bridge over Interstate 170 as it looked to MoDOT inspectors in April. I-170 will be closed from May 20-23 so crews can demolish the bridge and begin work on its replacement.

Interstate 170 near the Delmar Blvd. bridge will close at 7 p.m. Friday, May 20 so crews with Millstone Bangert can remove the aging structure and begin construction on its replacement.

Delmar bridge over Interstate 170 closed immediately

The Delmar Blvd. bridge over Interstate 170 will be closed until it is replaced, the Missouri Department of Transportation announced today.

The department had closed the bridge yesterday to do some emergency repairs. A bridge inspection team, however, determined that the bridge would remain unsafe even with the repairs.

Downtown St. Louis motorists will see traffic delays this weekend

Motorists traveling around downtown St. Louis will see traffic backups and delays this weekend as the Missouri Department of Transportation is packing a laundry list of repairs into one, two-day stretch.

MoDOT is making a variety of lane and ramp repairs starting at Grand Boulevard and stretching to the Poplar Street Bridge.

The repairs come during the same weekend that 25,000 runners will be coming downtown for the GO! St. Louis Marathon.

New traffic routing system and trolley service coming to Forest Park

Beginning Friday, a new traffic routing system and trolley service will be implemented at Forest Park.

The new traffic plan (see map below) was announced today by the non-profit Forest Park Forever and partnering institutions to help alleviate congestion at the Hampton entrance to the park.

Lesley Hoffarth, president of Forest Park Forever, said that from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day, vehicles will be diverted to the east on Wells.
