Record setting weekend expected at Busch Stadium Sunday

Busch Stadium could set an attendance record this weekend, but the crowd won't be there for a St. Louis Cardinals game. A stadium-record 52,000 people are expected for the U2 concert scheduled for Sunday night. That will include fans with seats on the field.

MoDOT receives funding for a new Daniel Boone bridge

A replacement for the oldest interstate bridge in the St. Louis region has gotten the green light from the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.

The Commission this morning approved $120 million for a new westbound Daniel Boone Bridge, which carries traffic on Highway 40 across the Missouri River. The westbound span was built in the 1930s and needs constant maintenance.

Sod dug up at Busch in preparation for U2

Busch Stadium ground crews begin pulling up the playing field in St. Louis on July 10, 2011 as preparations are being made for the U2 concert on July 17. The field will be replaced with new sod for the St. Louis Cardinals when they return home on July 25.

Less than 24 hours after the Cardinals completed a 4-2 win over Arizona, the sod at Busch Stadium is dug up and gone.
