Timothy M. Wolfe, 53, has been named the as the newest president of the University of Missouri System this morning.

Wolfe, who will be the 23rd president in the System's history, begins his tenure in mid-February and succeeds Gary Forsee. Forsee resigned from his position in January to care for his ill wife.

University of Mo. System to name new president Tuesday

The nearly year-long process to replace University of Missouri System president Gary Forsee is nearing its conclusion.

Interim System president Stephen Owens sent out an email this morning  saying that Tuesday is the day and that the announcement will be made at the Reynolds Alumni Center on the grounds of the System's flagship campus in Columbia at 10 a.m.

The event will also be livestreamed on a website specifically designed for the occasion.
