A fourth man - the suspected shooter - has been arrested in connection with the death of a St. Louis-area native who had a spot on the Ram's practice squad this season.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, police in Jennings picked up 20-year-old  Jevone L. Little around 2pm Wednesday. Prosecutors in St. Charles County have charged him with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action in the death of 26-year-old Brandon Joyce.

According to court documents reviewed by the Post, Joyce's death may have been a drug deal/robbery gone bad:

According to court records, Little and Cory Brooks met the victim, Brandon Joyce, on Main Street in St. Charles at 1:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve. Joyce made arrangements with Little to buy drugs, and Little told Cory and Tory Brooks and Deveon Shockley that he was going to rob Joyce. Little and Cory Brooks got into Joyce's vehicle, and Joyce picked up a friend. They drove to a nearby ATM where Joyce made a withdrawal. Joyce then parked on the lot of the Bass Pro Shop and a struggle ensue between Joyce and Little inside the vehicle.

The documents say Little pulled out a gun in the struggle and shot Joyce.

Joyce's family told the paper that as an athlete, he would have been tested frequently, and they do not believe he was trying to buy drugs.
