As part of ongoing construction efforts, the Eads Bridge will be closed this weekend.

The bridge will be closed to all traffic beginning at 8 p.m. Oct. 21 (tomorrow) and will reopen at 3 a.m. Oct. 24 (Monday).

Motorists and public transportation users alike will be affected by the closure, and Metro, which owns the bridge, provides the following information regarding alternative routes or means of transportation:

Only Red Line service will be provided in Illinois on Saturday or Sunday.   The East Riverfront MetroLink Station will be closed to customers but MetroBus shuttles will operate between the East Riverfront station and the 5th and Missouri MetroLink Station. The East Riverfront MetroLink Station will reopen Monday morning, October 24, at the start of service.   MetroLink customers traveling between Missouri and Illinois should allow an extra 20 to 30 minutes for their weekend commutes.  Specific details about how the bus shuttles will operate can be found on Metro’s website at www.metrostlouis.org.   MetroLink customers should also expect delays tomorrow, October 21, starting at 8 p.m. to accommodate construction crews on the tracks near the East Riverfront MetroLink Station.  The bus shuttle operation will also be in place the weekend of November 12-13.    Updates on MetroLink operations can be found at www.metrostlouis.orgin the Rider Alert section or by calling Customer Service at 314-231-2345 or 618-271-2345 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
