A California-based produce wholesaler is recalling more than 6,000 cartons of cilantro - including some distributed in Missouri - after a sample of the product tested positive for Salmonella.
The company says the Food and Drug Administration found the positive result at the distributor level, but the source of contamination is unknown. There are no reported illnesses.
The recalled product is distributed in Pacific International Marketing cartons of 60 bunches, 30 bunches, and 20, 3-bunched sleeves. The bunched cilantro will have a twist tie with the word "Pacific" on it, with a UPC code of 33383 80104. The sleeves have a UPC code of 40695 80104. The product arrived on shelves between Nov. 17th and Dec. 9th - customers whose purchase is included in the recall can return it to the point of purchase.
