Planning to travel downtown on I-64 tonight? Find another route

(via Flickr/Mykl Roventine)

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 on the double deck structure tonight. Here are a few of the particulars from MoDOT to help you choose your path of travel tonight:

  • All lanes and ramps will close on eastbound I-64 downtown between Jefferson Avenue and the Poplar Street Bridge starting at 8:30 p.m.
  • Thursday night to work on expansion joints underneath the westbound bridge. In addition, the ramps from Forest Park, Ewing and Pine Street to eastbound I-64 will be closed.
  • At least one lane will be open by 5 a.m. Friday morning.
  • All eastbound lanes will be open by noon Friday.

How can you get around all of this? MoDOT suggests that drivers use Jefferson Avenue and eastbound I-44 to detour around the lane closures.
