Friday, Dec. 24

9–11 a.m. Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols
When the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols was introduced to the King’s College community, on Christmas Eve, 1918, it was intended to offer comfort at the end of the World War. This year’s internationally broadcast Christmas Eve service of Biblical readings, carols, and related seasonal Classical music again seeks to provide a sense of solace and community to all. Join the celebration as one of the world’s foremost choirs performs in the acoustically and architecturally renowned, 500-year-old Chapel of King’s College, Cambridge, England.

12–2 p.m. St. Louis on the Air presents A Christmas Carol
St. Louis Public Radio presents a 2-hour, sound-immersive special of the classic holiday tale, "A Christmas Carol."  Charles Dickens' 1843 novella is narrated by Kirkwood resident and historical interpreter Anne Williams.

7–8 p.m. An Afro Blue Christmas
Join us for a very special holiday concert with Howard University's premier vocal jazz ensemble Afro Blue and special guest, pianist Cyrus Chestnut. This outstanding a-cappela group performs a variety of holiday songs including African-American spirituals, jazz and pop tunes, and classical repertoire. Afro Blue’s joyous celebration includes one of a kind arrangements of traditional holiday songs as well as new compositions. Enjoy listening to this musical holiday treat, hosted by Michele Norris.

Saturday, Dec. 25

2–4 p.m. St. Louis on the Air encore presentation: A Christmas Carol
Join us for a rebroadcast of Charles Dicken’s 1843 Classic holiday tale, A Christmas Carol, narrated by Kirkwood resident and historical interpreter Anne Williams.

Friday, Dec. 31

7–10 p.m. St. Louis Symphony Orchestra's New Year's Eve Celebration
Music Director Stéphane Denève and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra ring in 2022 with George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and An American in Paris. The evening also includes performances by dazzling pianist Michelle Cann, and many more delightful surprises including the world premiere of Missouri composer Stefan Freund’s Voyageur Fantasy with Roger Kaza, SLSO Principal Horn.

Saturday, Jan. 1

8–10 p.m. New Year's Day from Vienna 2022
Hosted by WBUR's Lisa Mullins, this popular annual New Year’s Day Concert will be performed by the Vienna Philharmonic under the direction of Maestro Daniel Barenboim. The iconic orchestra serves as Austria’s musical ambassadors to the world, sending the world a New Year's greeting in the spirit of hope, friendship and peace.
