Bob Reuter, St. Louis musician and long-time host of Bob's Scratchy Records on community radio station KDHX died in a tragic accident last week. He was 61.

We remember Bob's life, music and legacy through highlights of two previous interviews with Reuter: a 2010 Sound Portrait by Mike Schrand and a2013 Arch City Radio Hour interview with Nick Garcia

Here are a sampling of colorful Bob Reuter quotes from the interviews:

On being a radio host -  "If I do the show right I go into this trance...after the show I'm like what did I do? Did I kill somebody? What did I say?"

On Rock and Roll (reading from his memoir) - "Rock and roll is meant to involve loud volumes and small, sweaty rooms. It's sex, danger, joy, pain and repetition mixed with a certain amount of darkness and mystery."

On his photography - "I use a lot of grain. It looks like the picture is coming apart, kind of like I feel. It's kind of autobiographical."

Cityscape is produced by Mary Edwards, Alex Heuer and Aaron Doerr, hosted by Steve Potter and sponsored in part by the Missouri Arts Council, the Regional Arts Commission, and the Arts and Education Council.
