“It’s only had strings on it for less than 70 hours,” John Pizzarelli said of his new guitar that was made in Springfield, Missouri at Moll Custom Instruments.

Pizzarelli is a world-renowned jazz guitarist and singer. This is the latest of several guitars that Bob Moll has made for Pizzarelli over the years.

After playing live in our studio, Pizzarelli told “Cityscape” host Steve Potter, “It felt really good while I was playing it.”

Pizzarelli’s affinity for Midwest craftsmanship extends beyond guitars. He also uses microphones made by Bob Heil at Heil Sound Ltd. in Fairview Heights, Illinois and has for many years.

Pizzarealli is in St. Louis performing at Jazz at the Bistro and will be there through Saturday evening. For more information or to purchase tickets visit the Jazz at the Bistro website

“The fun thing about coming to St. Louis is when we play at the Bistro it’s always four nights so you get a little time in the city. It’s nice to be in a great city like this.”

“Cityscape” is produced by Mary Edwards and Alex Heuer and sponsored in part by the Missouri Arts Council, the Regional Arts Commission, and the Arts and Education Council of Greater St. Louis.
