Event Description

Love Chapter

"The Love Chapter" is a new group designed to provide a safe space for LGBTQ people, their parents, families, friends, and allies to gather, to discuss, and to receive encouragement and support. Our goal in “The Love Chapter” is that people feel affirmed in who they are and encouraged on their life’s journey. Beyond affirmation, our hope is that questions can be asked and explored. We know that many who experience the “coming out” of a loved one have questions and need encouragement to be the most supportive they can be. It is a journey not only for the LGBTQ person, but also for his or her parents, siblings, and friends as well. There are all sorts of questions that arise about the use of language, the ways to be supportive, and how to respond to homophobic or hateful responses. It is our hope that people from the community will come and experience the camaraderie as we support and encourage each other. “The Love Chapter” meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Community Room at Second Baptist Church, 9030 Clayton Rd. (at McKnight), Richmond Heights, MO 63117 314-991-3424
