The Bonsack Gallery opens Shifting Densities, a solo show by Kelsie Ward, with a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Friday, February 21. The exhibit runs through April 1. Kelsie Ward’s work in sculpture and immersive installation is focused on rock and glacier formations. She utilizes artificial materials as a means to facilitate a conversation regarding human’s relationship to nature. Additionally, she explores shifts in dimensional space; the relationship between the natural and the synthetic; and awareness of self and repetition. Ward is from a small town in central Minnesota and is currently based in St. Louis. She received her BA in economics and psychology with a minor in art from the College of Saint Benedict and St. John’s University in 2012 and her MFA from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2016. She has exhibited both locally and nationally, completed artist residencies in Iceland and Minnesota, and has served as a visiting instructor at Kentucky State University.
