Bond Aide Ran Site Named for Carnahan's Crashed Plane

MO Sen. Kit Bond

Washington, DC – An aide to U.S. Senator Kit Bond has been running a political website named for the tail number of the plane on which then-Governor Mel Carnahan died three years ago.

The website says that plane number marks an important date, the point in Missouri politics when "the worm began to turn."

Missouri Democrats alerted Bond Thursday; the Senator's chief of staff says the Republican was stunned and offended. The aide was disciplined, the site has no content on it Thursday morning.

Bond disciplined the aide for breaking Senate rules against using office equipment for political purposes.
