Special Election Set in Jefferson County

Jefferson City, MO – When Missourians cast ballots in the presidential primary next February 3, voters in one part of Jefferson County will also be picking a State Representative.

Democrat Ray Adams, of the 101st District, died in August of lung cancer. He was 62. Governor Bob Holden called a special election to coincide with the presidential vote.

Republicans have nominated Don Wieland of Imperial. Democrats will chose their nominee in Adams' district on November 4.

House Republicans hold a 90-71 majority over Democrats in Jefferson City.
