More Concern Over Westfall's Condition

St. Louis, MO – There's growing concern over the health of St. Louis County Executive Buzz Westfall.

The Democrat is still at Christian Hospital Northeast, and his family on Friday ordered the hospital to no longer make public statements updating his condition.

Some sources say his condition has deteriorated in recent days. The 59-year-old has been in a drug-induced coma. A staph infection in his spine was found shortly after he entered the hospital October fifth for what he thought would be back surgery.

Westfall spokesman Mac Scott says that he had no word of any change in Westfall's condition. Westfall is in his fourth term as the county's top official and oversees the largest jurisdiction in the state. County Councilman Charles Dooley has been acting county executive since October 14th.
