Freeburg, Ill. – About 830 students in Freeburg, Ill. headed back to school Wednesday. Teachers and the school board reached a contract agreement Tuesday night to end a two-day strike.
Teachers agreed to a 4% salary increase each year for three years. The new contract also includes tuition reimbursements for continuing education and dental insurance coverage.
Freeburg is about 15 miles southeast of East St. Louis.
