Illinois' Stem Cell Debate

Springfield, Ill –

Illinois might be moving closer to embracing controversial stem cell research.

Supporters say using stem cells from embryos can aid research that eventually might cure diseases such as diabetes and Alzheimer's.

But others say the debate is less about medicine and more about societal ethics.

Illinois Public Radio's Sean Crawford reports.
