springfield, Ill. – The state of Illinois needs an official state amphibian and reptile; so there's now a website that lets people vote.

The amphibian finalists are the gray tree frog, the Eastern tiger salamander and the American toad.

The reptiles on the ballot are the Eastern box turtle, the common garter snake, and the painted turtle.

The winners of the vote will become the official state herpetofauna of Illinois.
