Jefferson City, MO – The Missouri Army National Guard missed its recruitment goal by about 16% in the last year.
About 1,400 recruits were attracted in the year ending September 30th; about 70 short of the state goal.
The Guard has experienced recruitment problems nationwide that resulted in its first missed sign-up goal in a decade. Lt. Gen. Steven Blum says the recruiting climate is tougher because of the world situation.
