St. Louis, MO – Construction is expected to begin this week on the Old Post Office project in downtown St. Louis.
That work will include tearing down the nearby Century Building to make room for a parking garage.
Preservationists have so far been unsuccessful in trying to save the Century Building. They say they'll continue legal challenges.
Webster University is among those who will be new tenants in the Old Post Office. Officials plan to move their downtown campus to the renovated 120-year-old landmark building, with classes being held there in January, 2006.
