St. Louis, MO – Mechanics who have spent the last 11 weeks on strike against area car dealerships return to work today (Monday).
Dealers accepted a contract offer on Friday that the machinists union approved the day before.
The strike all but halted work at service departments at 61 car dealerships (60 in Missouri; 1 in Illinois).
But not every worker who was on strike will be back today. The union expected some temporary layoffs until customers return to pre-strike levels.
