St. Louis, MO – The Gateway Arch will glow pink tonight (Monday).
The pink lights help mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Missouri U.S. Senator Jim Talent worked legislation through Congress that let the Arch lights go pink. Talent's mother died of breast cancer in 1988.
The National Park Service, which operates the Arch site, initially questioned the move. It wondered whether it'd set a precedent that might let allow others maybe use monuments for protest.
But the Park Service dropped its concern last week.
