St. Louis, MO –

Voters in northern Jefferson County will pick a new State Senator in Tuesday's special election.

Steve Stoll resigned the seat in January to take a job in Festus city government.

Four people are running for the job; three of them are current or former State Representatives (Republican Bill Alter, Democrat Rick Johnson, Independent Harold Selby). The fourth is a former TV sportscaster ('Zip' Rzeppa) who thinks he'll be more recognized than the others.

The election also shows how Jefferson County is changing.

KWMU's Tom Weber prepared this report.
