St. Louis, MO – The Missouri Transportation Department says it will add 437 more miles of median barriers, mostly along Interstates 70 and 44, because the agency says they save lives.
Their proof? MO-DOT notes no one has died in a cross-over accident since the cables went up along I-70 in Warren County.
The rest of the cables should cost about $50 million and be up by 2007.
Warren County Coroner Roger Mauzy became a leading advocate for the devices after a number of cross-over accidents. He says MO-DOT's plans are a good move.
