Jefferson City, MO –

Eight people in wheelchairs chained themselves to the doors of the Missouri House in Jefferson City on Wednesday.

They were protesting cuts to Medicaid that seem to be all but guaranteed, and they wanted to talk to Governor Matt Blunt.

The governor did not meet with them and he has already signed new eligibility requirements for Medicaid into law that will remove about 100,000 Missourians from the rolls.

And both the House and Senate have passed versions of a state budget that cut funding for Medicaid.

Missy Shelton prepared this report.
