Beine could be released today

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis, MO – A former priest could be released from a Missouri prison as early as today (Tuesdasy).

That's because James Beine's conviction was thrown out two weeks ago by the Missouri Supreme Court.

Beine had been convicted on charges that he exposed himself to boys in a school bathroom.

The court ruled that the law that Beine was convicted on was unconstitutionally broad.

St. Louis Archbishop Raymond Burke asked priests at three churches where Beine once served to ask parishioners to come forward if they know of any sexual misconduct involving Beine.
