St. Louis, mO – A plan to ban smoking in St. Louis County has failed.
The legislation fell one vote short at a County Council meeting Tuesday night. Councilwoman Hazel Erby switched her vote after supporting the measure in a council committee.
She says the plan would hurt businesses.
The measure had exceptions in it to allow smoking in bars and taverns, airport smoking lounges, bowling alleys, and some parts of casinos.
