St. Louis, MO. – Missouri Governor Matt Blunt says two legislative proposals would encourage investment in the life sciences industry.

The governor met with members of his advisory council Friday for plant biotechnology in suburban St. Louis. Blunt says his proposals would create an agricultural sciences technology council and more uniform regulations for life sciences companies.

So we want to ensure that companies are coming to our state, regulatory certainty, and then having a science-based approach to issues of public policy certainly is a strong signal to them that we want to help them grow in Missouri."

Blunt says a significant portion of a new proposal to spend $ 300 million on capital construction includes funding for life sciences projects.
