St. Louis, MO – Missouri lawmakers will finish their spring session Friday.
One measure that was debated but never got a final vote would have changed how TIFs are doled out.
TIF, or tax increment financing, is an incentive that's credited with helping rebuild run-down parts of St. Louis City.
State lawmakers, though, had been looking to curb TIF abuses in the suburbs where neighborhoods aren't really dilapidated. Still, some city leaders say a second debate is needed that focuses only on urban areas.
