St. Louis – The city manager of Berkeley in north St. Louis County has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of accepting a 30-thousand-dollar bribe.
Joseph King was suspended soon after he was indicted last week.
Prosecutors allege he took the bribes from an insurance broker.
In a separate case, St. Peters Mayor Shawn Brown was also indicted for allegedly taking a bribe from a company that sells traffic cameras.
Brown has also pleaded not guilty.
