Two prison workers shot in northwest Missouri

By AP/KWMU

Chillicothe, MO. – Two employees were shot Sunday at the state prison in Chillicothe, in northwest Missouri. Authorities say it appears to be a murder-suicide stemming from a domestic disputed.

Corrections Department Director Larry Crawford says the shootings appear to have involved two newer members of the staff.

The Chillicothe Correctional Center is one of two prisons in the state that house female inmates. The prison was under lockdown, but there have been no issues with inmates.
