Missourians getting calls soon for health study

Springfield, MO – Some 49,000 Missourians will soon get a phone call from someone surveying their smoking habits and other health-related issues.

The state is gathering data from all parts of the state in what will be the largest adult health survey in Missouri history.

Results will help researchers know just who is smoking where and what are the biggest health issues in each county. The state got the $1.4 million for the study from the Missouri Foundation for Health.

The University of Missouri's Health and Behavioral Risk Research Center is conducting the research.
