ST. Louis, MO – Overland City Councilman Mike Schneider will be the city's next mayor.

A special election Tuesday was held to replace Ann Purzner, who was recalled earlier this year.

Schneider's 49% of the vote defeated two other city councilwomen - Mary Beth Conlon and Peggy Keller - for the job.

Other elections Tuesday saw ballot questions fail in the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District, as well as in the city of Wildwood.

Vinita Park voters approved a bond for road repairs, and Cynthia Garnholz won a special election to fill an open seat on the Clayton City Council.
