Two women ordained as Catholic priests at controversial ceremony
St. Louis – Despite the objection of the St. Louis Archdiocese, two women were ordained as priests Sunday.
Rose Marie Dunn Hudson and Elsie Hainz McGrath are part of the Roman Catholic Womenpriests movement. Another woman, who is a bishop in that group, performed the ceremony.
Archbishop Raymond Burke has said the women could face excommunication.
The ordination was held at the Central Reform Congregation synagogue in St. Louis.
