Man who tried to stop Starbucks theft dies after suspects ran him over

St. Louis – A man who tried to stop two people from escaping with a Starbucks tip jar has died, two days after the thieves ran him over.

Police are still searching for the young couple who stole the tip jar and ran down Roger Kreutz, 54, in Crestwood on Monday afternoon.

A $20,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the suspects' arrest.

Starbucks put up $10,000, and an anonymous donor offered the other $10,000. The young man is believed to be 17 to 20 years of age, the woman 16 to 19.

It is believed the tip jar contained a little over five dollars.
