Sam's Club to resume food bank donations

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis – Sam's Club says it's reviving food donations to local food pantries.

The warehouse store that is part of Wal-Mart halted the program two years ago in favor of giving cash.

But now Sam's Club says a pilot program in St. Louis will be expanded to most of its nearly 600 U.S. stores by late summer.

The store is working with America's Second Harvest, the largest national food-bank organization.
